Around the house . . .

I don't know about you, but going around the house with a big, fat camera; taking TONS of pictures just makes me VERY happy.  :)

Around my house:
Sunflowers are blooming!!!

Mom and Dad got back from Texas yesterday and brought us girls back some beautiful copper bracelets

The chicks have grown. . . uglier! We figured out that they are actually half white leghorn, half silkie. They look absolutely...... WEIRD!!

Hey everybody! I know I haven't blogged at all lately but this time I do have some pretty good reasons.  Mom has been really busy finishing up her online classes with Apologia; of course we have all had to finish out the school year, and Dad took Mom to Texas for their 20th anniversary! That leaves us kids staying at the Cooke's house for a while, and not much computer access. . . . . so that is where I have been, and I hope to be able to post some more pictures of our chicks very soon :)

More babies on the "farm!"

Well, you can't really call us an official farm . . . more like a mixed up mini farm (i.e. mini horses, mini chickens, and a mini dog :)

Anyway, one of our hens went broody and after a VERY long wait she hatched 3 little yellow and black speckled chicks. They are soooo cute I have to admit!

Home again, home again!

Sorry for the weird formating of my pictures, I thought I would shake some things up from the norm center format :D Yes, we are back and had a simply WONDERFUL time in Colorado! We:

Stayed in the Haver's amazing log cabin. . .

Went to Emily's graduation from high school (The girl to the left is her sister, Sarah, who was a junior escort in the graduation) . . .


Visited the DonK Ranch's barn . . .

Saw some pretty amazing critters that you wouldn't normally see around Marion :P . . .

Hung out with the cousins . . . and I must say. . .we had a blast together :)
  had a lemon eating contest with Livy
Camped out together . . . (Caelen and Livy kept spooking each other out all night while the rest of us slept peacefully . . .not. . . I think there was a gale going on outside or something.)
And of course, you can't forget all of the amazing views that CO had!

Again, looking from the airplane at all of the land and clouds soo far below made me wander at how God could even consider us here on earth, ". . .what is man that you are mindful of him?"

CO!!!

Caelen and I have been in a frenzy all day packing for our trip to Colorado tomorrow morning. We had to run errands for mom, shop for trip necessities, and pack, pack, pack!!!! 2 of my cousins, Emily and Katie Haver are graduating, so Caelen and I have saved up to go to see them for an early summer vacation I guess you could call it.

I just LOVE the bustle in the air ports, the plane take-off, and. . . . Just imagine this:

A retired dude ranch out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains with old log cabins, a swimming pool, tennis court, barn with lots of horses (well . . . 2 retired ones anyways ;) thousands of acres, and guess what? We have all this to ourselves, and of course, LOTS of cousins!!! :) Now does that sound like an awesome vacation or what!

I am very excited, I just have to pack like crazy before 11:00 tomorrow morning. To make matters worse, I just jammed my finger while trying to catch a frisbee that weighed 10 pounds 

so I am soaking my finger in ice cold water thinking of all the things I need to pack and. . . of course. . .all the pictures I need to take :D

"off day"

These past few days have been kind of "off days" for me.... for example; All in one day I:

1) Lost my balance with the groceries and dropped salsa all over the porch (I tried to get the chickens to help me clean it up, but I found out that they don't normally eat their salsa with glass normally)

2) Almost burnt the house down by forgetting to unwrap the wax paper from my sandwich and then sticking it into the toaster.

3) Missed the cup, making ice shoot out of the ice maker all over the floor.

4) After picking up the ice, I started talking and then noticed that I wasn't pouring water into my cup, but spilling it all over the floor beside my cup.

5) And finally, I accidentally clocked my best friend (who I hadn't seen in a very long time) in the head with my elbow, making her forehead look like a swollen egg :)

Yes. . .to say the least. . .that was not one of my better days. . .

More similar things have happened since then, but it made me laugh as I typed out all of my "misfortunes" :P
