Why did I not post on Thursday you might be asking? Well, let me just sum it up for you . . . Thursday I turned 16, so naturally I was pretty busy :) and I found out that my great Grandmother had fallen and broken her hip (at 95 years old . . . not good!), so our family had to tend to her. You guys can pray for her quick recovery.
Thanks for your patience with my lack of pictures lately ;)
Yep, sweet 16 came and went yesterday. Although I don't feel any older or wiser (though I wish I could say that I did), I do have more privileges and responsibilities now. When we turn 16 in our family, we get to start drinking coffee and wear makeup. . . . the only problem with these things is. . . I CAN'T STAND coffee (although I really wish that I did). . . . so . . . sad, but anyways Mom and Dad surprised me with a "certificate" to a one night's stay at a bed and breakfast way up in the mountains. :) Right now I am blogging from my beautifully rustic room in the Lazy Bear Lodge and getting ready to head out to go shopping with Mom in Boone :) I'll be sure to post on my stay here.
Ooohh, and by the way, thanks to the Robbins, Hannah Moore, and Josh Chick for a great time in Roanoke this week! I enjoyed you guys immensely!!!!
Well. . . . believe me! I did have good intentions to post my pictures while I was here visiting the Robbins in Roanoke VA, but my memory card isn't uploading my pictures so I will have to wait until I get back home on Thursday. :( sorry everybody, but I'll see ya then!
Don't worry! I didn't forget about this, I was just sooo swamped this weekend! In fact, I was out of town doing some intensive training for the Apologia home school conferences that I'm going to be working at this year.
Well, . . . It seems like the boys are kind of falling off of this 'photography in 30 days' thing. I'll still let them join in when they can, but for right now I think it is just going to be Caelen and me :)
Today Caelen and I both had sore throats and the boys were busy with school all day, so I was the only one who got around to taking the picture of the day. Maybe the others will make up for it tomorrow :)
Ben worked himself into a frenzy trying to get up the nerve to pull his tooth. He spent most of the morning looking into my mirror, staring at his mouth and asking if it was ready to pull yet :)
Nathan has been putting forth the extra effort to compliment us girls (Caelen and I), with more hugs, and by blessing us in every way lately. It is like he is constantly on the lookout for ways that he can make us smile :) Caelen caught this shot of him teaching one of our little neighbors to roller skate . . . got to love it!
Benj is also a huge blessing and definitely one of God's ways of showing me my need for patience :) He is always ready to give an (almost violent) hug to me in the mornings and tell me that I look "pretty". . .
Brothers can really be a joy when sisters make them out to be ones. If we are encouraging and are interested in what our brothers have to say, then they will reciprocate the attention in ways that are surprisingly thoughtful and sweet :) I encourage you to make the best of the time with them now before it is too late.
Look forward to sharing the next picture of the day with you guys!
We all had a pretty busy day today shopping in Asheville, so at the very last minute before I was about to hop into a warm cozy bed to go to sleep, I remembered "OH WAIT!! We still haven't taken our pictures for the day!" I marched everybody into my room (where there is most light) and we all took our pictures which are just random things that have made us happy today. Ben was already asleep when I remembered, but he told me earlier today that bananas really made him happy :) I have no doubt that he would have taken a picture of a banana for his daily picture.
Day 3 ~ Self Portraits. . . Probably not my most favorite picture choice because it is so much more complicated to put the camera on 'self-timer' and pose yourself in 10 seconds . . . Oh well, they turned out alright in the end.
Photography in 30 days! Yes! - Motivation for taking more pictures!!! I plan to start the "challenge" next week on Bloom Photography (my other blog), so if you want to follow my progress, head on over to my photography blog :)
I am going to do the best I can with only 1 lens for my camera (I am in desperate need for more at the moment), but . . . we'll see how it all goes.
