Announcing . . . . Bloom Photography!!!!!

I don't know if anyone noticed the button on the side, but Caelen and I started a new blog a few weeks ago made just for our photography. I would have "advertised" a bit sooner, but we have had a whole bunch of computor issues lately, so we haven't been able to load any of our pictures up :(
Thankfully though, all of that is squared away now! So Enjoy!!!! :)

Father Daughter Retreat 2011~ Outside Games

We are back from the 2011 Father Daughter retreat, and I cannot tell you how inspiring it was to Dad, Caelen and me!!!! It was not only very nice to be with our Dad, but it was also encouraging to be with so many like minded dads and daughters! We also enjoyed spending more time with the Robbins who came with us this weekend. Lastly, we got to meet so many sweet young ladies at the Father Daughter! This was a very, very nice weekend!

WONDERFUL RETREAT!!!!

Father Daughter Retreat 2011~ The Victorian High Tea

The Victorian High Tea:  It was simply delightful!!!

Father Daughter Retreat 2011~ The conferences

Forgive the bad quality of the pictures; the lighting was not right and they were so far away that I couldn't catch good pictures.  :(

Elizabeth Botkin

Elizabeth and Anna Sofia Botkin

They had a "get your dad ready for work" contest. . . they picked 4-5 girls and fathers to come up on stage and shave, put shoes on, and tie ties on their dads to get them read for work. The razors and shaving cream used to shave dads were plastic knives whipped cream. It was hilarious!

Virginia P with Kaitlin, one of the Cooke's friends who got to come to the retreat

In between conferences, we had a HUGE hailstorm!!!! Some of the hail got to be about the size of a golf ball. . . .almost.

The retreat as a whole was WONDERFUL and I sincerely hope that we will be able to do it again next year.

Pudding fail

Pudding just didn't like me tonight!  I wanted something simple, but delicious to satisfy our sweet tooths :) It didn't go so well. . .

This is what happens when you accidentally put baking powder into the pudding instead of cornstarch. :{ . . . Yes! It did get very messy!

After cleaning up the last mess, I managed to make a spill while trying to do the right version of this pudding :P

Finally I got everything to work out.  This is what it is supposed to look like. . .

Though I totally messed this up tonight, it is a wonderful recipe for pudding~

*****Ingredients for homemade vanilla pudding

2 cups milk
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter
*****Directions

In medium saucepan over medium heat, heat milk until bubbles form at edges. In a bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Pour into hot milk, a little at a time, stirring to dissolve. Continue to cook and stir until mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Do not boil. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into serving dishes. Chill before serving.

New Do ~

Yeah!!! I finally got a long needed hair cut!!! My hair is now just below my shoulders, I have shorter side swept bangs, and LOTS more layers. As you can see in the picture, she really curled it up :)
Since Dad is taking Caelen and me to the Vision Forum Father Daughter Retreat, I decided that it was time to trim up a bit. :)
Yes. . . . I am soooo excited about the Father Daughter. We are all looking forward to being encouraged and and making new friends. Don't worry! I will have a nice lengthy post on everything we do! :)

I would like to say how much I am excited about riding to the retreat with Uncle Brian Robbins, and his two wonderful daughters, Charity and Faith! I LOVE you guys, and can't wait to spend more time with you this weekend!
In Christ,

Return of the Daughters~

Caelen and I just finished watching The Return of the Daughters; A documentary by Anna Sophia and Elizabeth Botkin, on how daughters can really be a blessing to their Dads and have a HUGE impact on their whole family while they are at home. I don't have a lot of time to write, but I wanted to quickly jot down just how much my Dad means to me, and how much I enjoy spending time with him; whether that be helping him put up fencing and working around the yard together, or having little conversations in the car when he picks me up from work (I babysit). When I watched this documentary again, it made me realize just how much of a help us daughters can be to our dads! I am praying that I can be a total blessing to my dad, (and to my whole family) and that our relationship will grow stronger as I get older.

I LOVE MY DAD =)
