A light that does not flicker!

Yesterday morning, I was watching one of my candles, (I LOVE candles! :D) and It reminded me of my life. When you light a candle, it tends to go on steady for a while, but when you turn the fan on, the wind makes that steady flame flicker, spurt and sputter. When you put your hand up to block the wind, the flickering stops, and you can smell the sweet aroma of the candle!
I was thinking of how this reflects us; We can either put off a good and sweet aroma and not waver in our flames for Christ, or we can let anger, pride, selfishness..etc.. take control over our lives and make us flicker and sputter. Then there is the stinging smell of smoke in the air. We are tempted to give in to our flesh, when in our hearts and consciences, we know exactly which of the two that we should chose. Through staying in prayer and in God's holy word will we ever be able to keep a good aroma.

Which one will you be?

Chicken *LOVE! (And stitches)

Just hanging out with the silkies today....

Ben's silkie-Yetty-He carries that chicken around everywhere, and Yetty follows him like a little dog! It is soooo sweet!

Last night, Ben came into the house with a gash in his cheek (He had fallen on sharp tree stump). Daddy took him to the ER to get stitches. He was wonderful...Ben is naturally tough, but we were all very proud of him for staying calm through the whole thing.
I would be grateful if you added him to your prayer lists for a quick recovery though :)

Frappuccino's and creativity

My homemade wall paintings

Lately, I've enjoyed making frappuccino's for us kids

I got the following recipe from the Starbuck's version of the 'frapp'

  • 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups ice
  • For a caramel topping, 3 Tbs
  • Whipped toppingshopping list
  • Chocolate syrup 3 tbs
    • Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker: That should be 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.
    • To make drink, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.
    • CARAMEL Version:
    • For this version, add 3 tablespoons of caramel topping to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream and drizzle additional caramel over the whipped cream.
    • MOCHA Version:
    • For this version, add 3 tablespoons Hershey's chocolate syrup to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream, if desired
    • *If you want the link to the website I got this from.... Starbucks

Skunk trouble

Though they may seem cute, skunks sure do cause a bunch of trouble!

Last night, we had a little black and white visitor....

Tyner decided that he would protect the family from little furry nuisances.....

So, after getting sprayed in the mouth, he killed the skunk....

Poor buddy!!!! He feels awful!!! (Not to mention he smells terrible!)
